Free-tier limits and what counts toward them

The free tier's two caps (patient profiles and monthly sessions, counting both uploads and real-time Capture trials), what counts against each, what stays free after you hit a cap, and which features sit outside the free tier entirely.

Updated July 8, 2026

The free tier is the full product. You get the complete metric suite, longitudinal tracking, PDF reports, and patient management with nothing held back. What the free tier caps is volume, not capability.

The two caps

The free tier has two limits, and both are counted per clinic rather than per clinician:

  • 5 patient profiles. Every patient you create counts toward this, no matter who on your team created them.
  • 10 sessions per calendar month. Every new session counts once, whether it comes from a file upload or a real-time Capture trial. The count resets at the start of each month.

Because each Capture trial is one session, a Capture protocol will not start if its planned trials would push you over the monthly limit. When that happens the setup screen tells you how many trials you have room for, so you can shorten the protocol or upgrade.

What counts, and what does not

Only two actions move you toward a cap: creating a patient and adding a session (a file upload, or each Capture trial). Everything you do with data you already have is unlimited:

  • Viewing sessions, dashboards, and trends
  • Editing an existing patient's profile or notes
  • Generating and downloading PDF reports
  • Exporting CSV data
  • Re-opening or excluding trials on a session you already have

Deleting a patient frees a slot against the 5-profile cap. Deleting a session does not give back a monthly slot, since it already counted that month.

What sits outside the free tier

Real-time Capture is available on the free tier (its trials count toward the monthly session cap like any other session). A few other capabilities belong to a paid subscription and are not on the free tier at all:

  • IsoForge biofeedback training
  • Custom chart branding on dashboards and reports
  • Additional clinician seats

If you open one of these on the free tier, you see an upgrade prompt rather than an error.

When you hit a cap

When you reach either cap, the app shows a prompt explaining which limit you hit and links to the upgrade page. Nothing you already have is locked or removed. You keep full access to every existing patient and session, including reports and exports. To add beyond the cap, upgrade to a paid plan.

For what a paid plan includes, see plans and what each one includes. To upgrade, see upgrading and adding seats.
