Canceling or pausing a subscription

How cancellation works, what happens to your patients and sessions when a paid plan ends, and what reverts to free-tier behavior.

Updated July 8, 2026

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time, and your clinical data is never deleted when you do.

How to cancel

Cancellation is handled by the clinic owner from Settings, then Billing. Open the billing portal from there and cancel the subscription. Billing actions are limited to the owner, so if you are a clinician or admin, ask your clinic owner to make the change.

Your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period. Canceling early does not trigger a partial-period refund, but you keep every paid feature until the period you already paid for ends.

What happens to your data

Nothing is deleted. When the paid period ends, the clinic reverts to free-tier behavior:

  • Every existing patient and session stays fully viewable
  • You can still generate PDF reports and export CSV data for all of it
  • IsoForge becomes unavailable until you resubscribe; real-time Capture stays, bounded again by the free monthly session cap
  • You cannot add new patients or new sessions (uploads or Capture trials) beyond the free-tier caps

If you were over the free caps when you canceled (for example, more than 5 patients), all of those patients remain visible and usable. The caps only limit adding new records, not reading existing ones.

Pausing instead of canceling

If you need to step away for a season rather than cancel outright, contact support before your renewal and we can talk through the best option for your situation. Reactivating later is straightforward from the same billing screen.

Resubscribing

To come back, the owner reopens Settings, then Billing and starts a new subscription. Your patients, sessions, and history are exactly as you left them.

For the reverse direction, see upgrading and adding seats.
